"Up North" Canoe Trek

Location: Northern Wisconsin
What's There: The Northern Highland was once a mountain range similar to the Alps or Rocky Mountains.  Over hundreds of millions of years, the mountains were worn down and flattened by erosion and glaciation.  Today, the region is mostly hilly forests and lakes ... and our summertime adventure.  We will canoe through a chain of lakes with only a couple of very short portages.  There will be plenty of time for relaxation and fishing along the way.
Age Requirement: 14 to 18 years old; Venturers also allowed
Rank Requirement: First Class rank or Venturing Award
Crew Size: 6+ Youth, 4+ Adults
Estimated Cost: $500.00 including transportation, food, and program
Special Gear: Suitable footwear, versatile layered clothing
Personal sleeping, clothing, and eating items
Canoes will be rented
Preparation: - Pass the BSA Swim Test
- Attend planning meetings with Troop 202 contingent
- Shakedowns to learn canoeing skills
- High Adventure Part A/B/C health form for youth & adults
