Prepare for the Board of Review Most of the preparation required for your board of review is the journey you have undertaken to get to this point. This is a momentous occasion, and one that you will want to take seriously by reviewing the ideals of Scouting - the Oath, the Law, and the symbolism represented in your uniform and insignia. It is not recommended that you rehearse for the questions you anticipate in the board of review. Rather than hearing rote answers, the members of your board of review will want to have a conversation with you and get to know you. They are trying primarily to determine that ... (1) you have completed all requirements for the rank including the Eagle project scope that was previously approved, (2) when you recite the Scout Oath and Law, you do so with conviction, intending to live those values on a daily basis, and (3) you will represent Boy Scouts of America and the Eagle rank in a positive way throughout your life. Refer to your Scouts BSA Handbook to prepare for the discussion by reviewing the Scouting ideals you will want to reflect on and recall. Here is a SUMMARY of some ideals you learned when you became a Scout. |
